Of course, upgrading knowledge and practical skills is part of it, but education is also about values and thinking. It’s about finding our place in society in a significant way. We ensure that every child can attend school and complete their education without facing inequality based on caste, gender or socio-economic status.
Health & Nutrition
Health is one of the priorities of life. Every part of life relies on having good health. For the body to function appropriately, grow properly and keep healthy, one must consume a proper diet. Our primary focus is to provide children a proper nutritional diet.
Youth Skilling
The youth faces many challenges, including underemployment, unemployment, and a lack of possibilities. But, there is a method to overcome these obstacles through skill development training. In Universal Smile we try to provide at least one such training to every child so that they can find opportunities to excel in their selected fields or become entrepreneurs, boosting the economy.
Computer Literacy
Computer literacy is a necessary life skill that can help people stay up to date, get ready for the future, and open up new opportunities. In modern era, the use of computers has achieved an important place in major fields and has become a way of life. We make sure that after a certain age every child gets trained in computer.
Women Empowerment
Universal Smile is dedicated to train women and young girls for income-generating opportunities. Our primary goal is to make them financially independent through various program like Computer training, Mehendi design, Stitching training, Knitting training, beautician training and various handicrafts training .
Emergency Relief
Universal Smile is committed to stand beside the needy in times of various natural calamities, covid or any kind of emergency situation. We provide food, blankets, dresses, mosquito net, basic medicines etc. to fulfill their necessities.

Story behind the journey
A journey of happiness and soulfulness was started in the year of 2009. We, the initiators of UNIVERSAL SMILE started our initiative by distributing goodies pack including food packets, books, chocolates, sports accessories, blanket, mosquito-nets to the needy children living by the streets of Kolkata.
It was just then that we planned to start a small children home with children who really needed basic food, clothes and are eager for learing. But the task was not so easy like we planned. We visited various places for convincing their parents or known people. Few of them had single parent. It was easier to get permission from their mothers rather from their fathers. But somehow they were convinced for the better future of their children. We arranged a small rented house with separate accommodation for girls and boys and basic amenities. Initially we brought into our folds 6 such children mainly from the streets near Ballygunge Phari.
